Alcohol ink is an unusual ink, using dye based pigments in quick drying alcohol. Because the inks are made this way they can be worked again and again to differing effects using various techniques. No two alcohol ink artworks can be the same as the flow really is at the will of multiple factors, not least artist capability. Unlike other artworks the way alcohol ink works is to dilute the inks in even more alcohol and use air to move the fluid. Because of this unique technique beautiful veils and details can be made and every ink brand behaves differently. Mixing alcohol inks with acrylic inks brings texture and other effects. Metallic inks and shimmering inks add something that no other medium can deliver. Because of the layering capabilities and endless surprising beautiful details, this medium has me hooked.
